Welcome to the home of Bike Marshals Ireland

Our nationwide crew of RoSPA qualified and experienced riders have vast experience with 1000's of kms covered marshalling a variety of events,  managed in a professional manner, to the highest standards.

We work with event organisers to improve the planning, preparation and execution of events, using experience gained from large and small events alike. For example, helping event organisers with decisions on types and levels of support, communications and traffic management.

Our network across the country usually means you are dealing with marshals from your own area in the first instance and have the backup of the entire organisation to draw on for your event or special day.

Our Mission

  • To enhance the safety of event participants, fellow marshals and the general public during events that take place on public roads.
  • To develop a training process for motorcycle marshals, and continuously improve that training through involvement with stakeholders such as event participants, event organisers, insurance providers and the Gardai.
  • To provide a long-term sustainable source of revenue for groups within the Blood Bike network of charities.

Who We Are

We are a group of motorcycle volunteers. Originally based in the Limerick-Clare-Galway area but now covering a network nationwide. We marshal and support events that take place on public roads - maintaining and improving safety for event participants, fellow marshals, and the general public.

We have developed a handbook called MarshalCRAFT on motorcycling marshalling. Training sessions are organised to practice the techniques. Currently the training locations are Ennis, Oranmore, Portlaoise, Swords, Clonmel and Mallow. An assessment by an independent expert based on the content of the handbook has also been designed. Those who pass the assessment are given M-CRAFT certificates from BikeMarshals.ie.

We have a special relationship with Blood Bikes and we regularly donate to this group.

Our Riders

Do not receive any pay for their services, but do receive nominal expenses per event to cover costs incurred in providing marshalling support (primarily relating to fuel). Only nominal expenses are allowed and this is a condition of our members participation as well as our insurance.
Receive their Emergency Response Skills (ERS) training from “First Bike On Scene". Check out www.bikerstraining.com for more details.
